On Accommodations:
There are ~21 people staying in our house—a proper assemblage of beautiful people from the many circles of Jack’s past. A handful arrive on Thursday, then gradually trickle in through Friday and into Saturday morning. We tried our best to take your survey responses into account when placing people to hopefully ensure a splendiferous time is had by all.
Whether you’re raging in the blanket maze, a denizen of Garage Mumbai, or being forced back into the closet, we want you to be happy and to feel your needs are met. If at any time you need anything or think something could be changed, let us know and we’ll see what we can do to make things better!
Transportation and Parking
Our house is about a 25-minute drive from the SLC airport. Uber/Lyft fares typically range from $25-50 depending on time of day.
There’s no need to rent a car but you’re welcome to if you want the option to explore during downtime. We are located at the end of a long shared private drive and parking in front of the house will be unavailable, but parking in the adjacent LDS church parking lot is abundant. Overnight parking at the church is a gamble, but we’re located in Mormon suburbia and street parking is quite safe.
We have 2-3 vehicles you’re welcome to borrow for errands or whatnot, just ask.
Sleeping
No need to bring a tent or sleeping pad unless you have one you’re highly fond of, everything will be set up and ready for you.
Bedding will be provided. Every sleeping space will have either a mattress, 4-5” memory foam pad, or luxury camping pad (none of those squeaky ultralight shits), plus sheets and blankets aplenty.
We have pillows but feel free to bring your favorite if you prefer!
Each floor of the house has independently controlled radiant flooring, including the garage. Getting the temperature right for over twenty bodies on the floor is going to be fun. Feel free to adjust the temperature on your level if your cohorts are in agreement. Radiant takes a while, so feel free to open the windows for a quick blast of subfreezing Utah air.
Everyone will have power access at their sleeping space and spare chargers available if anyone forgets to pack theirs.
Food
To best accommodate sleep schedules across multiple time zones, we will have an abundance of snacks and ingredients with an open fridge policy. Anything you find is yours to consume or use to cook meals for yourself or others. A list of what’s available will be posted on the fridge for chefs and grazers alike.
Dinner on Saturday will be catered and served around 6 pm. We will also cater lunches as needed.
Several attendees love to cook. If you would like to cook a specific dish or meal, text us and we’ll make sure you have everything you need.
Drink
We drink from the tap. The tap water is filtered at the source. There is also a filtered waterbottle filler in the garage gym. There will also be bottled water if you think that’s gross.
We’ll have a beverage fridge and several coolers stocked with beer, sparkling water and mixers, and several nearby grocery stores if we don’t have what you like.
We’ll have a bar with the basics (heavy on whiskey and scotch) and a liquor store two miles away to replenish as needed.
